Accessibility & Inclusion

Events

The Broken Planetarium is committed to ensuring our events and programs are guided by a commitment to disability justice and intersectional equity. We recognize that many disabled people, particularly multiply marginalized disabled people, often face exclusion not only from physical spaces, but also from conversations, decisions, and power. To support meaningful participation, we provide accommodations such as ADA accessible venues for rehearsals, events and performances; sign language interpretation nights for performances, specific masked performances, accessible seating, materials in alternate formats, and we proactively work to address access barriers.

Please contact laura@brokenplanetarium.org at least 10 business days before the event to request accommodations or if you have questions about accessibility. Where applicable, please include the following information: Nature of the problem encountered. Specific information sought or type of accommodation needed. Contact information (preferably email address) for a response.

Website

The Broken Planetarium strives to ensure our communications, digital tools, and platforms are accessible to people with disabilities. We also recognize that digital exclusion disproportionately affects disabled people of color, older adults, and low-income communities. If you encounter any access barriers or require materials in an alternate format, please reach out to jonathan@brokenplanetarium.org.

We’re a small nonprofit staffed with artists, not techies. We do our best to make the website usable for everyone by doing things like adding descriptive “alt” text to images, but we’re sure there are places where the experience of the site isn’t ideal. Please let us know if you encounter anything like that and we will find a way to ensure you can enjoy our productions!
